  • Day 1 : Atlanta - Montgomery
    rhythms-of-the-south-01

After picking up your motorhome, it’s an easy 21/2 hour Interstate drive into Alabama for your first night in the State Capital, Montgomery.

  • Day 2 : Mobile
    rhythms-of-the-south-02

Heading for New Orleans, take a break at Mobile, Alabama and stop by Shady Acres Campground where you will get a warm welcome.

  • Day 3 : New Orleans
    rhythms-of-the-south-03

Head for the historic, gracious and unique city of New Orleans: the birthplace of jazz. You can walk from The French Quarter RV Park into the heart of New Orleans. Though the RV Park looks a little like a car park, it has full hookups and the Clubhouse is very ‘New Orleans’ with great facilities. The wonderful restaurants, the world famous music and nightlife for everyone might make you extend your stay here.

  • Day 4 : Jackson
    rhythms-of-the-south-04

Move North now into Elvis country. It’s a long ride to ‘Elvis Town’ so we are breaking the journey just north of Jackson, Mississippi – another State Capital and staying at Timberlake Campground.

  • Day 5 : Tupelo
    rhythms-of-the-south-05

Leave the freeway traffic and take the very scenic Natchez Trace bound for Tupelo, Elvis Presley’s birthplace and home town until the age of thirteen. After a stop to visit, your campsite is at Barnes Crossing, just minutes north of the town.

  • Day 6 : Memphis
    rhythms-of-the-south-06

Drive for a couple of hours through the Holly Springs National Forest to Memphis. Where better to stay than within walking distance of Graceland, Elvis Presley’s home. The Memphis-Graceland RV Park & Campground is located on 19 acres just off Elvis Presley Boulevard behind Elvis Presley’s Heartbreak Hotel.

  • Day 7 : Goodlettsville
    rhythms-of-the-south-07

Travel to the home of Country Music and the city that saw Dolly Parton and a host of other great singers become international stars. Just north of Nashville is Goodlettsville and the Nashville Country RV Park and they organise tours through Grayline to major attractions such as the Grand Ole Opry (Tues, Fri, Sat night), Country Music Hall of Fame and the Jack Daniels Distillery.

  • Day 8 : Chattanooga
    rhythms-of-the-south-08

We will travel for just over two hours to our last stop of this trip near Chattanooga. Raccoon Mountain RV Park & Campground is the closest campground to the area’s major attractions: Tennessee Aquarium, Lookout Mountain, Southern Belle Riverboat, IMAX Theatre, and downtown Chattanooga. Adjacent is Raccoon Mountain Caverns with 51/2 miles of cave systems to explore.

  • Day 9 : Atlanta
    rhythms-of-the-south-09

Drive for just over 2 hours/130 miles to be dropped off your motorhome back at Cruise America in Atlanta.
