You will be met at the airport and transferred to Mount Meru Game Lodge. Nestled between the peaks of Mount Meru and Mount Kilimanjaro, the lodge dates back to 1959. Spend the afternoon at leisure or visit the Game Sanctuary, which for many years has provided a safe haven for African plains game.

After breakfast, collect picnic lunches and drive to Arusha National Park. Set against the spectacular backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro, Arusha is renowned for its otherworldly scenery and excellent trekking routes. The area is divided into three parts: Mount Meru, a spectacular volcanic cone; Ngurdoto Crater, with its lost-world feel; and the multi-hued Momela Lakes. Commonly spotted animals include Cape buffalo, giraffe, zebras, warthogs, monkeys, flamingos, lions and elephants.

Head to Lake Manyara National Park today. In the Karatu area you will visit a local school before being driven to Acacia Farm Lodge. Lake Manyara is a small park with a magnificent landscape of acacia woodlands, forests, baobab-strewn cliffs and algae-streaked hot springs. You’re likely to see tree-climbing lions, large families of elephants and thousands of flamingos on the lake.

Drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area this morning. Explore the Ngorongoro Crater, known for its natural beauty and abundance of diverse wildlife. This UNESCO-listed crater is considered to be the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera. Here you can spot the Big Five and a host of other species including large herds of zebra and wildebeest.

After breakfast, depart with a packed lunch to the famous Serengeti National Park, stopping off at Olduvai Gorge and the Masai Village en route. Olduvai Gorge is an important archaeological site that has yielded fossils and stone tools that span millions of years, offering important insights into the dawn of human evolution. Check in to the luxurious Kubu Kubu Tented Lodge, which offers absolute comfort, exclusivity and a genuine African bush experience.

After breakfast and check out, you will be driven to the airstrip for your scheduled flight to Arusha. On arrival at Arusha, you will be met and transferred the short distance to Arusha Coffee Lodge ‘Shanga experience’ for lunch. From here you’ll be transferred to Kilimanjaro Airport for your onward flight.
