Once you've had enough of the waves you can head into the dunes for a desert safari. Depending on your temperament, you can either take a gentle off-roading excursion across the dunes, or opt for some high-octane dune bashing. Other activities include a relaxing camel ride, watching a falconry display, and enjoying breakfast or dinner at a comfortable desert camp.

Another beautiful feature of Ajman's coastline is the sprawling mangrove forest of Al Zorah Nature Reserve. The reserve is a haven for a multitude of bird species, including several migratory birds, but the pink flamingos are arguably the main stars. We recommend exploring the mangroves on a guided kayak tour – a relaxing way to take in the marine and plant life.

The enclave of Masfout, southeast of Ajman City, offers some great walking and hiking. Here you can explore the wadis and rocky foothills of the Hajar Mountains. Walking routes range from easy strolls to spectacular viewing points, to longer hikes across challenging terrain.
